Robert SantaCruz, a longtime resident of Bakersfield, California, passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 75. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, generosity, and, above all, an unwavering love for his family.
Robert proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran. Throughout his life, he was a dedicated oilfield worker and later worked as a prison kitchen supervisor. He approached every chapter of his life with strength, determination, and a commitment to providing for those he loved.
Robert found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching all sports, collecting coins and generously giving them away to others. He also shared many wonderful memories bowling with Gloria as part of their bowling league—times filled with laughter, fun, and companionship.
Above all, Robert was a devoted spouse to Gloria Hutchins, sharing 30 years of love and life together. He was a proud father to Angela SantaCruz and the late Lisa Marie SantaCruz, a loving brother to Edward (Pat) SantaCruz, Alex (Laura) SantaCruz, and Amalia Shambaugh, and a devoted Papa. He was also a lifelong friend to many whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, generosity, and genuine spirit.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Edwardo and Margaret SantaCruz, and his beloved daughter, Lisa Marie SantaCruz.
Though his passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, Robert’s memory will live on through his family, friends, and the countless moments of love, laughter, and generosity he shared throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
