Roy Curtis Greer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Greer, who left this world on July 11th, 2026 at the age of 86. He was a beloved father, family member, and friend whose quiet strength, generosity, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Roy spent much of his working life doing what he did best—working hard and leading by example. He worked offshore as a Production Foreman, helping keep operations running safely and efficiently, He took pride in honest work, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him through his knowledge, dependability, and steady leadership.

Away from work, Roy appreciated life’s simple pleasures. He loved good company, a great joke and working on cars. He could often be found enjoying a classic Western, listening to country music or the rock ‘n’ roll hits of the 1950s. Whether it was Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Elvis Presley, or Buddy Holly playing in the background, those songs always seemed to feel like home.

Above all else, Roy loved his family. He was a dependable presence, someone whose love was shown through his actions as much as his words. The lessons he taught, the laughs he shared, and the example he set will continue to live on in those who knew and loved him.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for the years we shared with him and for the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles through our tears. His legacy is one of hard work, kindness, laughter, and love.

Roy is survived by his son, Travis Greer, of Ventura California who will cherish his love and steadfastness always.

A celebration of Roy’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, California 93306.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Roy’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
