

She worked with Childrens Home Society (Foster and Infant Babies), Pacific Telephone, Kern Valley Hospital and finished working career at Bakersfield Dermatology after 20 years.
Ruth was a member of the Foursquare church and then later joined Valley Baptist where she became deeply involved in ministry for over 10 years. She joined a Sunday school class (WOW Widows of Worth) and was deeply committed to encouraging those in her class daily. She loved reading the Bible, listening to Christian music, and praying without ceasing. Very passionate about family, friends and spreading God’s good news for salvation and encouragement. Ruth wanted to see all of us on the ‘other side in heaven’. Dedicated to sharing God’s great news to everyone she came in contact with. Was committed to daily phone calls and sending cards to help others at church that could benefit from encouragement, which also blessed Ruth. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Herschell B (Del) Young, son Melvin B Young, three brothers and seven sisters. Leaves behind daughters: Debby C Mooneyham (husband Charlie), Tami M Young and granddaughter Kindra M Lytle (husband Eugene) who Ruth and Del raised as a daughter. Was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great children, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ruth stayed faithful to God to the very end and trusting His will for her life and purpose. A scripture from the Bible that expresses her last few years of life: Jude 1:21 “Keep yourself in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”
