Sally Pittman

Sally C. Pittman, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in Bakersfield, CA. She was born on July 13, 1944, in Bakersfield, CA, where she spent her entire life surrounded by the community and family she loved.

Sally was known for her strong faith in God and her unwavering love for her family. Every morning and every night, she faithfully prayed for her family and friends, lifting each of them up to the Lord. She loved cooking meals that brought her family together and cherished every opportunity to gather around the table. She loved her children and grandchildren, and her greatest love was for her great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

Sally was preceded in death by her life partner of 30 years, Daniel P. Blacktooth, son Victor Martinez Jr., biological parents Louie and Carmen Zuniga Burciaga, and adoptive parents Antonio and Beatriz Castro.

She is survived by her daughter, Carmen C. Portillo, and son-in-law Fernando Portillo; son Aaron Calistro and daughter-in-law Aurora Calistro; son Edward Calistro; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Dora Salazar; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Her prayers will be felt forever.

Viewing will be held from 6:00pm-9:00pm Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Hillcrest Memorial Park 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. Bakersfield, CA 93306.

The funeral service will be Friday July 31, 2026 from 10:30am-11:30am at GBFPC 1418 W. Columbus St. Bakersfield, CA 93301.
