

Steve Marin Franetovich Senior passed away on December 14, 2011. Steve was born in San Pedro, CA to Steve and Reperata Franetovich on June 17, 1930. He moved to Arvin, CA at the age of 5. Steve served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He was stationed at Presidio, San Francisco as a military police. He was ordered to Camp Desert Rock, Nevada where he participated in Atomic Bomb Testing. After his discharge from the army he owned and operated Steve's Cabinet Shop for over 40 years. He also served 46 years as a Kern County Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He was also a Master Mason of Caldonia Lodge 486, Scottish Rite, Almalaikah Temple. Steve is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Naomi Franetovich and his parents. He is survived by Fiance Concha Alderete-Mooney, Sister Katharine Mott, Daughter Marilyn Williamson, Sons Steve M. Franetovich and wife Terri, Michael Franetovich and wife Mary, Jeffery Franetovich, and 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A visitation and Rosary for Steve will be held on Monday December 19 from 5-8 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. Mass will be held on Tuesday December 20 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 9915 Ramos Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93307, with graveside services to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
