Steven Ray Greenwood was born on November 3, 1958 in Newport Beach, California to Dorothy and Malcolm Greenwood. He passed away on June 26, 2011 in Bakersfield, California with his wife and stepson at his side. He moved with his family to Bakersfield when he was 7 and after graduating high school enlisted in the United States Air Force. It was here that he met and married his first wife, Jacqueline Marzec of Buffalo, NY and was blessed with their only daughter, Shari Greenwood. After serving, he earned his Business Administration Degree and spent 4 years with Guimarra Vineyards Corp. as a staff accountant. In 1987 he joined Superior Farming Co that was acquired by Sun World International in 1989. He has been with Sun World for 24 years and was devoted to his job as Manager of Budgets & Reports. During his career he achieved recognition across the country as a leader in the area of Business Intelligence. Steve was an integral part of a nationwide effort by IBM's Smarter Planet Campaign related to its Small Business tools. He was a sought after speaker at conferences and business to advise on data collection and business analytics. He was a key part of the success Sun World achieved in recent years. It was also at Sun World that he met his second wife, Terri Berrigan, and together created a family that included her two children, Rory Berrigan and Brenna Berrigan. He had numerous friends with whom he shared a love of golfing and travelling. With his wife he shared a tremendous love for animals, and it was his goal to travel to as many different zoos, refuges and parks around the world as possible. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Terri, and his children: Shari Greenwood, Rory Berrigan and Brenna Berrigan, and his father, Malcolm Greenwood. He also has numerous in laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews left behind to enjoy his memory. He was preceded in death by his wonderful mother, Dorothy Greenwood and his brother whom he missed greatly, Thomas Greenwood, and grandparents, Vernon & Addie Greenwood, Larry and Helen Pratt. Most importantly, he was a good man who loved his family and was very proud of his children. Although he will be greatly missed by so many, we will forever be thankful for the years we were given. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Steve's memory to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association .
