Sylvia Jean Ramsdell, 80, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Atascadero, California. Born on July 15, 1945, in Bakersfield, California, Sylvia lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and unwavering faith.
Throughout her professional life, Sylvia devoted herself to supporting others through her role as Human Resources Manager at Richter Manufacturing. Her commitment to both the company and its employees was evident in every interaction. She approached her work with integrity and care, always striving to create a supportive environment where people felt heard and valued.
Sylvia’s Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. It guided her actions and inspired those around her. She was active in several churches over the years and consistently led by example—offering encouragement, wisdom, and spiritual guidance to those seeking their path. Her belief in God shaped not only her personal journey but also how she connected with others.
She found great joy in traveling and camping alongside her beloved husband Mel, dear friend Sharon Moore, sister-in-law Bonnie Ramsdell, and many others who shared in these adventures. Whether exploring new places or enjoying the quiet beauty of nature, Sylvia cherished these moments deeply. Her creative spirit also flourished through painting, coloring, and other artistic pursuits that brought color and expression into our world.
Sylvia’s warmth extended most profoundly to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her sons George and Greg Ramsdell; daughter-in-law Jackie Ramsdell; grandsons Joshua, Philip, and Aiden Ramsdell; granddaughter-in-law Vanessa Ramsdell; great-grandson Hunter Ramsdell; sister-in-law Bonnie Ramsdell; and many other beloved family members whose lives were enriched by her presence.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Melford Ramsdell; brother-in-law Michael Ramsdell; grandmother Iva Honn; and parents-in-law George and Ruth Ramsdell.
