Thelma Stanford, one of a kind true Mountain Mama, left this ole earth at the amazing age of 101 to join her husband and love of her life, Bob Stanford, in Glory where they are now together for eternity.
Thelma & Bob were inseparable partners for 75 years. They met on Valentines day where she worked as a cocktail waitress to support her 4 children. Bob would always tease the he met her when they married she would never have to work another day of her life. That rang true and she became his best friend and partner-never allowing a cross word to quinch their special bond.
Last December on her birthday, Bob passed with Thelma beside him holding his hand. She placed Bob's shirt on her pillow for the next 3 months praying every day for the Lord to take her to join him. Now they both rest in peace together.
In their younger days, Thelma would always go deer hunting with Bob and she walked with him every step of the way. She cooked and cleaned and was famous for her Chicken & Dumplings. Their door was always open to company and spending time on their porch was heavenly changing all our lives.
In her growing up years in Oklahoma her nick name was "Frog". she had creek Indian heritage and her high cheek bones and beauty was never ending. She put on her lip stick & Cologne everyday along with her crisp starched house dress, and always ready for company and laughter to the very end. Amazing Lady!
