I remember when Tim and Michelle visited Paula (my lovely ex-wife) and I when they travelled across the states together after she picked him up on the east coast after he got out of the Army. Tim was the epitome of youth and energy at its peak, and Michelle was as vibrant and open as she was since we last saw them both, as adolescents.

I cannot remember the year, but Paula and I discussed this trip after we learned of his passing. We are both very sad and feel as though we have lost a member of our own families. Paula remembered that in another life, "Brownie" (Robert) and Shelly had brought the kids to our place in the mountains above Caliente CA where they rode around on our older Quarter Horse - Babe, and had the best of times that children and families can have.

We loved all of you as family and still remember the children as a part of our lives, even though we have not heard from any of them in years.

Shelly reached out to Paula over social media and it sounds as if they may connect again, but that's what tragedies do, bring the living together, at least for awhile. My regret is I did not think to reach out to Tim even though I am currently living in Bakersfield. I did not know he was living here. For that, I am very sad.

Shelly and Robert, if you read this, please know that Paula and I remember we grew up with you guys while Brownie and I worked at Rockwell together, and we will always remember those years as some of the best in our lives. Michelle, I do hope to see you again and meet your family, even if only at the service.

In Christ's name...
thank you all for the memories, and know that all of you are dear to both Paula and myself - Curtis
