

Trice Harvey was born in Arkansas July 15, 1936, and grew up in Tupman, Ca. He went to be with our lord on Tuesday, January 31st peacefully surrounded by friends and family. Trice was preceded in death by the love of his life Jacqueline Louise Harvey in 2012. He is survived by daughter Dinah Marquez; son Nick Harvey; grandchildren Trice Harvey II, Taryn Harvey, and Andrea Marquez and great grandson Rider Jaxon Stevens.
Trice met his wife of 56 years while playing quarterback at Taft High School and working in the Taft Oilfields they were married when he was 19 years old and Jacque was 17 years old. After a brief year at UC Berkeley, he went on to graduate from Fresno State and began his professional career as a Kern County Health Inspector before getting into politics. Trice won his first election in 1976 and won 10 elections in a row serving 12 years on the Kern County Board of Supervisors representing the fourth district and 10 years as a California State Assemblyman. Even after Trice retired he would still attend many political events and fundraisers and could be seen with his big Arkie smile. Trice was selected as the Houchin Blood Bank donor of the month in June of 2012 and hit the 26-gallon mark on January 4th.
Jacque and Trice's spiritual journey took them to St. Francis Church where together they would attend services and bible studies. Trice particularly enjoyed his time at the men's Bible, Barbeque and Beer events. Trice's larger than life good ole boy smile, great wit, deep love of Kern County and love for everyone he met will be missed and remembered by all.
Services will be at St. Francis of Assisi Church 900 H Street, Wednesday the 8th with a Rosary beginning at 6 pm and a Funeral Mass on Thursday the 9th at noon. Reception following in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, The family has requested that blood donations and cash tributes be made to the Houchin Community Blood Bank Foundation, Trice Harvey Memorial Fund, Account Code 968.
