

Vivian was born December 16, 1964, in Bakersfield, CA, to Bibiano and Margaret Carrasco. She attended local schools and graduated from East High in 1983. She was employed by the Bakersfield City School District for over 20 years and held various positions. She was currently a School Secretary at Frank West Elementary School.
Vivian enjoyed cooking, reading books, going to the casinos, watching her favorite t.v. shows and spending time with friends and family, especially her two grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She was a very kind, giving and selfless person who loved deeply from her heart. She never met a stranger and was always doing for others never expecting anything in return.
She is preceded in death by her mother Margaret Carrasco.
She is survived by her husband, Jorge Herrera; father, Bibiano Carrasco; son, Javier Herrera; daughter, Gricelda Herrera; grandchildren, Javiercito and Emily Herrera; brothers, Richard (Bernice) Carrasco and Mark (Karen) Carrasco; mother-in-law, Juanita Herrera; brothers-in-law Javier (Rosa) Herrera and Jose Manuel (Ethel) Herrera; sisters-in-law, Maria (Ezequiel) Hernandez, Elvia (Vicente) Hernandez, Martha (Mark) Johnson as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family members and friends.
Viewing will be Monday, May 5, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Hillcrest Mortuary Park. A rosary will be recited from 6-7 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Francis Church.
A special thank you to Dr. Emmanuel Strategos as well as the UCLA medical staff for taking special care of Vivian.
