William passed peacefully on August 11,
2026 after a short illness.
He was born December 28,1943 to William
Frantz and Beatrice Ducey in Sherman,
Texas.
He worked as a master machinist for
many years before becoming a teacher at
CCI Tehachapi.
He married the love of his life, Rose "Sue"
Woodsmall on August 29,1969. They
would have celebrated their 57th
anniversary this year.
They moved with their family to
Bakersfield in 1978. He cherished his roles
of husband and father.
He enjoyed rock hounding and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kelly
as well as his grandsons Matthew and
Caleb.
He is survived by his wife, Rose "Sue"
Frantz, daughters Kimberly Freiberg and
Heidi Mitchell (Ben), grandsons Christian
Mitchell (Harley), Joshua Mitchell (Shay),
Al Mitchell (Sasha), Sean Mitchell
(Cynthia), Brandon Mitchell and
granddaughter Rebecca Freiberg.
Additionally, he has great-grandchildren
Lilly, Connor, Giselle, and Roman as well as
many nieces and nephews.
His humor and compassion will be dearly
missed.
Graveside services will be August 28, 2026
at 2 pm at HIllcrest Memorial Park
