

Fr.James C. Miles age 69 originally of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on Friday October 24, 2014 in Opelousas, Louisianna. James was the beloved son of the late John Miles and Nancy Miles (nee King). He was a cherished Roman Catholic priest for 36 years, who was known for his singing voice and his tireless devotion to his parishoners, his family and his faith. He was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Lake Charles, La., but he ministered in many places in Baltimore, including Holy Rosary, Saint Michael and the Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic Churches. Father Jim traveled to Haiti doing missionary work and many other countries. When in Africa,he was arrested and sentenced to death, after a priod of time he was set free. Fr. Jim appeared on a television show "What's my line". Which his line was " I had a near death experience". When a member of the family requested his priestly services he was always available.The day before his death his favorite companion, his dog Heidi died. He is also survived by many loving first cousins and he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donate to your local church in his name. Relatives and friends may visit at the Shrine of the Little Flower Church 3500 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21213 on Thursday from 10 am until noon at which time a Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated.
