I was just looking at my wedding videos from over 30 years when Father Jim married us. He was a kind soul, and he was an  example of  what a priest and a follower of Christ should be.  God Bless you Father Jim, and may you be enjoying your time in heaven with my parents.  Your teachings of the Catholic faith and your example living it stays with us all who was blessed to have you as our priest.

I have been thinking about Father Jim lately.  He was truly a man of God and saved  me from walking away from my Catholic faith when my mom was murdered.  My faith helped me through and continues to help me in my darkest moments even during this pandemic.  He married us 2 months later, and I will always look back at his time in my life with such fondness. I know he is in heaven with my parents and an angel to us all.  God Bless you Father Jim! 

I have thought about Fr. Jim over the years and am so very saddened to have found, through search, that he has passed. I was curious to find what parish he might be serving. We worked together at Holy Rosary Church in East Baltimore years ago.  He was such a holy man, a true priest and lover of our Lord. He was so attentive to each funeral, the families' needs, and sang Polish hymns and prayed in Polish whenever possible or appropriate.  I have always considered Fr. Jim Miles my friend.  Rest in peace in the arms of our loving God. Pokoj twojej duszy! "Serdeczna Matko, opiekunko ludzi..." With utmost respect and admiration - my sympathies to his family.

I had not heard of Father Miles passing until today. He was a lovely person and will be missed.  My prayers go out to the family.

Father Miles stood by me during the times i was at my most distant from The Church, as well as when i felt closest to Christ. Along with the shock of His sudden passing, i am blessed to realize the very deep Holiness of Father. He took on the sufferings of others in a most serious yet private way. His Flock extended across the globe, and His actual diocese could easily be said that it was a global one. It is no secrect that Father let others know of His physical pains. However, what he shared of His pains were only the tip of the iceberg,which included many painsand sufferings that went so far beyond the sufferings than any of us knew about. He truly loved and accepted everyone as they were, and offered His sufferings for all of our personal intentions. As we saw in His passing, we all felt He belonged with each one of us and felt the intensity of letting go of his earthly remains. Special thanks to Bishop Provost, for allowing Father to serve where He believed He was needed most. Also to Father Michael Champagne,CJC, who so often "washed the feet" of Fr. Miles. Thanks also to the Sebastien/Bertrands, who cared for Fathers needs from 1970 until His last moments on earth. i hope we can give Father that which He wanted most: Masses and prayers in life, and especially in death. i am sure i am but one of countless people who are still in the acceptance stage of this sudden loss. i am just beginning to realize His passing as a major victory for those of us in the Church Militant. Rest in Peace, Our Dear Padre and friend.and know that i rely on Your intercession more than ever.

I met Father Jim in the early 1970's while attending USL. He told great stories,sang wonderfully, and was very supportive of people. God bless you Father Miles.

My family will miss the unique humor of Father Jim Miles.  He was certainly one of a kind, and a rare gem.  I deeply saddened by the loss of him and still cannot believe he has passed on, but I have peace knowing he is in heaven with my mother and brother and singing with the angels.  I have many great memories since childhood that I will keep close.  Rest in peace father.  God bless Father Jim.

I will miss your friendship,support, cards and letters - I always looked forward to receiving them and have kept them all.  

Thank you Fr. Miles for burying my Mother for me; supporting us though weddings, deaths and every other important event in our lives. To this day one of my most treasured items; is a third class relic of Our Lady of Guadalupe that you gave us many years ago. Now it will have a more special meaning.

The heavenly choir just received a beautiful voice to add to their number.

The theme song to our lifelong friendship should have been "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" So many wonderful years filled with music, great memories, laughter and tears---- you always present at ever so many family gatherings and functions. Sadness prevails now but I am peacefully happy that I was able to be with you in the sunset of your journey. Rest in peace, Jim, old friend.

Father Jim Miles was a model priest.  He always remembered our family and presided over our family baptisms and funerals.  We were so fortunate to have him in our lives.  We are so saddened at his passing.  Leo & Hania (Novak) Romeo

Jim was a close family friend. He would stay with us on numerous trips to Opelousas where my many brothers and sisters would entertained him. We had the pleasure of being with him these last few months and he will be sadly missed by us all. RIP Jim

Father Miles was a close friend who kept in touch with us throughout the years.  Every Christmas Father Miles would write inspirational and positive letters to catch us up on his many activities as he served the parishioners at Holy Rosary, as well as Saint Michael and Shrine of the Little Flower.  Jimmy was the beloved cousin of our choir director, Dolores McGowan who was our highly-respected and well-loved choir director.  One of our most cherished memories is when Jimmy Miles sang "He Will Rise Again" during our choir's Easter vigil Mass.  Like Fr. Miles, his voice was charismatic, outstanding and unforgettable.

I am deeply saddened to find out that Father Miles has passed away. The entire Zaleski family had been profoundly impacted when he first stepped into our lives at Holy Rosary Church. He was more than just another priest, he was a good friend to our family. He cared about us and would keep in touch. He was one of a kind and we shall never forget him. Heaven just got a beautiful voice and soul.

Father Jim had one of the most beautiful voices.  He's now singing songs in heaven.  I remember his Sunday mass services at Holy Rosary Church many years ago.  He will be missed.

We met dear Father Miles when he used to celebrate Mass at Our Lady's Center on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We became good friends and would visit him, talk to him on the phone and/or write throughout these years. He was a very caring and devoted priest; he served the Lord with gladness – tirelessly, faithfully. He gave hope and encouragement to many and made a difference in the lives of those who knew him. We also remember how much he loved and took care of his dear pet Heidi! He sure had a wealth of knowledge, a great mind and heart! He will always have a special place in our hearts and memories; Our condolences to all in the family. May he rest in peace.  Ada V. & Bob Krumhansl
