Cecelia Elizabeth Cox

Cecelia Elizabeth Cox, age 66, entered eternal rest on February 24, 2023. She taught high school math for Silver Valley School District and retired in 2017.

Cecelia was married to John E. Cox for 46 years and they enjoyed traveling, hiking, swimming, camping, and skiing. John and Cece lived in Davis, California, Cadillac, Michigan, and Ogdensburg, New York.

Cecelia attended local schools including Mount Saint Joseph School, Skyline North, and Barstow High School. After high school, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and California Teaching Credential, at California State University, San Bernardino. She completed her Master’s in Education at Graceland University.

Cecelia was raised in a large family of two brothers and nine sisters. Deceased loved ones include parents Nester and Josie Baca, sister Theresa Poché, baby brothers Joseph Baca, and Joseph Baca, and grandson Andrew. Surviving siblings include Anne Jaramillo, Nester Baca (Donna), Ray Baca (Marigold), Mary Bilsborough (Mark), Judy Delgado (Jeffrey), Joanne Padilla (Karl), Angela Baca, Clara Lerma (Peter), Marcella Baca-Dory (Jim), Sarah Hamilton (Tom).

Her favorite pastime was her daily rosary walks in the Mojave Desert. Her love and caring for all her nieces, nephews, stepsons, stepdaughters, grandchildren and godson brought much joy to her life. She warmly welcomed many friends, family members, and neighbors including the Hospice caregivers Jocelyn and Nancy.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on March 16, 2023 with the Rosary and Divine Chaplet at 10:00 AM, Mass at 11:00, and Burial at Mountain View Cemetery.
