Corine A. Salas, 75, a resident of Barstow for 57 years, passed away on October 13, 2016 at Desert Valley Hospital, with her family at her side. She was born on April 27, 1941 in Belen, NM. Corine worked in retail for 25 years, until she became disabled. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, and being with her family. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She is survived by children Evelyn Velasquez (Sammy), Elsie Rasmussen (Glen), Joseph Salas, Susan Valdez (Robert), and a granddaughter she raised, Chelsea Guerrero, of Barstow, a brother Joseph L. Smith of Albequerque, NM; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jose T. Salas, her parents Adolfo Aragon and Flora Trujillo; grandson Glen A. Rasmussen and great grandson Gabriel Lozano.
Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with visitation at 9:00am, rosary at 9:30am and mass at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memorial Park.
