November 13, 1938 – September 12, 2021 (age 82)
On Sunday September 12, 2021 Jerry Cuba loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Uncle passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Jerry was born in Genoa, Nebraska on November 13, 1943 to Felix and Katherine Cuba. Jerry worked on the family farm till the age of 17 when he joined the Navy and served as a Boiler Operator from November 1955 to October 1959 he obtained his high school diploma while in the Navy. When Jerry returned to California from the Navy he worked for the Borax Plant for 5 years and multiple cable companies before he got a job at Yellow Freight in Barstow, California as a loader and inspector for 22 years of service and retired in 1997.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Shirley Cuba of 41 years. His surviving children are Mike Cuba and spouse, Sandy Cuba; daughter Misty Salbino; son Mark Cuba, son Travis Shane Cuba and spouse, Michelle Cuba, son Vincent Lucero and spouse, Lynn Lucero; daughter Lori Meneley and spouse, Robert Meneley. He is also, survived by 14, grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Jim Cuba and spouse, Nancy Hegi-Cuba. As well as many more loved ones and close friends from California and Nebraska. Jerry was preceded in death by his son Rickey Lucero. His parents Felix and Katherine Cuba.
Jerry loved to work with wood, he redecorated most of the family home walls in wood that he hand crafted. He loved making anything in wood including pictures, lamps and many other things.
At Jerry’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
