Jose Antonio Saiz Jr.

Tony Saiz, Jr., 47, a lifetime resident of Barstow passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Tony graduated from Barstow High School in 1986. He was employed in the Solar Power industry for 28 years working for Constellation Energy, Florida Power and Light, and he was currently employed by Nextera Energy Resources. Tony loved hunting and camping, collecting and reading historical literature, and he was an avid fan of the LA Angels, LA Clippers, and the Oakland Raiders. Tony was preceded in death by his son, Antonio Donald Saiz and his sister Lupe Saiz Marquez. He is survived by his son Jose A. "Tony" Saiz III of Barstow, his daughter Michelle Saiz of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and son Michael Elston (Marlaina) of Barstow; parents Jose "Tony" and Virginia Saiz of Barstow; brothers and sisters, Vivián Saiz of Rancho Cucamonga, Gloria Saiz, Gilbert (Julia), John (Anna), Patricia Maestas (Ray Barela), and Anita Luna (Michael), all of Barstow. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mikey, Matthew, and Mya Elston of Barstow and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tony was a loving and generous man who had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, and a contagious smile, which left an imprint on many hearts and he will be greatly missed. There will be a viewing at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2015 followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Barstow. The celebration of Mass will be on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:00 am immediately, followed by burial at Mt. View Memorial Park.
