My heart goes out to the Sanchez family for the loss of an amazing woman that I have known ever since Cindy and I were pregnant with our girls DeAnne and Rachel Trujillo. She has always made me feel as part of the family and she will always be in my heart.  I pray the Lord keeps his arms around the family for comfort.

Mrs. Sanchez when you told me that you were ready to take the trip to paradise I had no clue that you meant the true paradise. There is no doubt that you are loved and missed by many. Some folks talk about how you taught them to cook, or clean the house, or how well you treated their family, or how nice you were to them at Del Taco. All this is good and a true testament to your wonderfulness, but what I admired most about you is your steadfast love for the Lord. I admired your courage and strength in the face of pain and your refusal to let it keep you from enjoying life. I admired your ability to love unconditionally. You possessed the attributes of a godly person that we would all do well to emulate. I miss you for this and so many more reasons my California Mom. When I walk into your house and look to my immediate left you aren't sitting there with your glasses at the tip of your nose reading scripture. When I sit on the sofa and look across the room you aren't sitting there watching TV. When I sit on the corner stooland look toward the far end of the house you aren't walking down the hall. There are many places where you "aren't" but the one place that you are and forever will be is in my heart. I will miss hearing you say "ok mija" but know that I will hear those words again when I see you anew. I can't think of a better way to close than by using your call sign "Goodnight. Love you. God bless you".

Dearest Mom, the forefront of everyone's tribute is the unconditional love you had for others. You certainly had the Spirit of the Lord in you! I am so glad we had your 80th birthday party and were able to give you a live tribute! That rarely happens but I believe the Lord allowed us to have a "send off" party for you because people you had not seen in a long time came in droves! To live without you day-by-day will be the hardest thing I'll have to do but I take great comfort knowing you are with Jesus, Dad, Frankie and other dear family members.  I have so many memories in my heart of you. Even lighthearted ones---like when you fell off the bed at a retreat you attended with me and we laughed until we cried (once we knew you were okay) or the time you and Lucy's mom got caught smoking by the guest speaker at another retreat! :) I was privileged to take you on your one and only plane trip when we flew to Maryland to find Jason in 1996.  We found him alright...all in God's timing! I'll miss seeing you and talking to you every day, Mom and hearing you say 'Oh Shoot" throughout our conversation. I know I'll see you again Mom and we will be with Jesus forever. But in the now, we have to carry your legacy on. We have to live selflessly like you did and put God first in all that we do. I'll do my best Mom to be a reflection of you because you were a reflection of Jesus! You'll be in my heart forever Mama! Your daughter, Emelia

Grandma,
As I sit here writing you, I keep trying to think of one of my most favorite memories of you, But it's impossible and overwhelming to me because there is thousands and I wish I can have thousands more. The hardest thing I've ever had to do was to be strong enough not to break down and beg you not to go. I wanted you to stay here with us, with me ! But seeing how sick and in pain you were in, just broke my heart so much. I knew you had to go home. I just want to be able to see your beautiful smile one more time. I loved your cute little Gap in the front of your teeth and the way you would answer the phone. I can hear your voice saying hello..! I'm so scared of our first holidays without you. No matter what holiday it was, it was always at your house. That's where we went automatically year after year. Your house was always Decked Out with decorations. You always made it feel so magical and safe. In you're 80 years of life, you have packed a lot of love, so much love that you gave love so generously to all who knew you. Sometimes you seem to Glow with love, you radiated love. You always amazed me! I can't believe how you raised 8 children who adore you and have 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren is truly a blessing, but I've been honored to be your first grand baby and I'm proud to be named after you and you also baptize me so I'm truly lucky and blessed for these things. No words can express how thankful I am that you are my grandma you were all of our grandma and you loved each one of your grandchildren and great-grandchildren the same and I think I can speak for all my cousin's when I say we truly felt your love, all of your love and we are going to miss you everyday until we get to see you again. Thank you for my family and always keeping us so close together. No matter what we will stick together because that's what you have taught us. You will forever be the heart of us and I will never forget you. You will be in Every Beat of My Heart! I love you so much grandma! Make sure to give grandpa and uncle Frankie a kiss for me and have fun dancing on the clouds. I bet you are the most beautiful angel in heaven because that's what you were here on Earth.

To all of the Sanchez family, my deepest condolences for your loss.  Mama Sanchez, as my kids and I fondly referred to Lydia, was such a blessing to us whenever we saw her.  We always looked forward to visiting with her on our trips to/thru Barstow, and she always treated us to the best homemade tacos.  Lydia was a lady with a very big heart, so loving, so sweet. I will cherish many fond memories at her house, women retreats and even a special trip to Yosemite one year.  You will be missed, Mama Sanchez.  My thoughts and prayers to the Sanchez family. My deepest condolences to the family. Sorry for your loss.  She was a very kind and caring lady who I remember growing up in lenwood on Johnson street when I was a kid, and  she lived on the corner of woods Ave.  I remember her always smiling and so friendly when I went into Divines liquor store where she worked.  She will be missed dearly.

How Blessed We are to have had such a wonderful Aunt, She called me a few weeks before her 80th Birthday it was a nice surprise she said she had been praying for Scott. I have so many wonderful Memories, Christmas Eve growing up was always at her house. She was a wonderful Big Sister to my Dad, She will be missed by all of us, I will picture her dancing on her 80th Birthday "What an Angel on Earth now in heaven, to all my cousins, please let me know if you need anything you are all in our prayers.

My dear friend Lydia. I truly can say that I cherish the fact that our paths crossed on earth. I look forward to meeting up with you again one day. I wish to share many more stories with you and I know that "you will enjoying listening to them"Thank-You Lydia for taking time to know me and to make me feel so special every time we saw each other . It may not have been many times but it sure had a lasting impression on me and my family. You are a true reflection of our Lord Jesus.

My Mom had a slender small body, but with a large heart- a heart so large that everybody's joy found welcome in it. Mom was the only person on earth who can divide her love among 8 children and each child still have all her love. Thanks Mom, for all I am today, I owe to you. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and spiritual feelings I received from you. There is something about losing your Mom that is permanent and inexpressible, a wound that will never heal, so no matter what I do to move from this pain deep down inside of me and my family, we will always know that we will never get to hug you and say I love again without you saying it back.  Mom, thank you for all the good memories that you gave to me, Marylou, your grand-kids, and great Grand-kids that we will cherish forever. We know God has called you to a better place called Heaven with Dad and Frankie and with the rest of our family that has passed.  Mom, we love you and will miss you dearly.
