Maria Perez

Maria Perez, age 62, of Barstow, California passed away early morning December 26, 2022. Maria was born in Bronx, NY. She proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 2 years before being honorably discharged to be a Military wife and stay at home mom. Maria loved to volunteer in the schools during her time traveling with the military. When her husband finally retired in Barstow, she got a job with Barstow Unified School District where she would work as an ESL Aide. She worked with the School District for 7 years before being put on disability.

Maria is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jose G. Perez, her son Jose Perez and 3 grandchildren; Ariana Perez, Angelina Perez and Anthony Perez. Her son Javier Perez, and her daughter Sandra Cadena, her husband, Nathan Cadena, and 3 grandchildren; Jayden Cadena, Izabella Perez, and Maksum Cadena.

After her grandchildren were born, Maria's love for volunteering in the schools was reborn. She was highly involved in the PTA at Cameron School for almost 5 years, serving most of that time as President. Maria had a heart of gold and she will be truly missed.
