to soft tissue sarcoma cancer. After a year and a half battle with his disease, Robert died peacefully in his sleep.
He is survived by his parents Tammy and Leonard Trujillo, fiancé Carlos Matos, brother Jeremy Trujillo, sister-in-law Amanda Trujillo, niece Peyton Trujillo, and nephew Myles Trujillo. He is also survived by his many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
Born on April 3rd 1989, Robert lived much of his life in Barstow. While he loved the desert with all its hidden treasures, he also spent time living in Florida and Colorado. The time he spent living in Florida was a healing time for Robert where he met amazing friends and the love of his life, Carlos.
Although Robert’s days on this Earth were cut tragically short, he lived life with an intensity and ferocity that was contagious for all in his presence. He lived his life, he really lived it, and he lived it his way. His sharp wit and sense of humor were unparalleled and make for amazing stories. To describe Robert as a generous person would simply not convey the true level of caring and empathy Robert had for others: he would give you the damn shirt off his back. Robert loved. He loved with his whole heart, and he loved people for exactly who they were, as they were, flaws and all. His love was expressed through his words, actions, and loyalty--if Robert loved you, you knew it.
He was the first person to tell you to hurry up, and he was always the last one out the door, yelling profanities all the while. Among the things Robert loved, Frederick the Elephant was one of his most treasured possessions, just ask any of his cats.
We will miss Robert with every fiber of our beings. We will remember Robert and his kindness, his love, and his fire for life. We will laugh and smile when we think of him and his love for F-Bombs. Robert did not live life quietly and he will certainly live on, loudly in our hearts forever. We fucking love you Robert.
