It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of
Ruth Elizabeth Jauss, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Ruth died peacefully at home with her family at her side after a long battle with cancer.
Ruth was born Sept 22, 1934 in Akron, OH to Margaret and Charles Stephens. She was the ninth of ten children. As a young girl, Ruth’s family moved to Willow brook, CA. Years later, they moved to Newberry Springs, CA. It was here she met and married her husband, George H. Jauss Jr. in 1952. They were married 53 years until his passing in Dec of 2005. They had six children. She was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Ruth moved to Victorville, CA in 2006.
Ruth loved the Lord; she attended Victor Valley Church of Christ. She was adored by her church family.
Ruth loved crafts and she loved making personal cards for all.
Ruth had an infectious smile and gave the best hugs ever. Her love for family and friends was an inspiration to us all.
Ruth is survived by her children: Cheryl Mitchell (Jim) Victorville, CA; Linda Olivares (Tony) Hesperia, CA; Richard Jauss(Bea) Mojave Valley, AZ; Terry Jauss(Julia) Gilbert, AZ and Darrell Jauss (Linda) Victorville, CA. Her daughter- in- law, Mercy Jauss, Barstow, CA. Her brother Paul Stephens (Suzanne) Connersville, IN. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Stephens, her husband George H. Jauss Jr. Also preceding her death are siblings Edison Stephens, Roland Stephens, James Stephens, Jack Stephens, Rosalie Loveland, Edna (Zetty) Watkins, Avis Olinger and Patricia Snyder. Her oldest son, George A. Jauss preceded her in death in 2009. Her grandson Benjamin Jordan preceded her in death this year. Ruth leaves behind many friends and family who will miss her dearly. Services will be held on Saturday the 18th of August at the Victor Valley Church of Christ, 13150 Sycamore St. Victorville, CA. Viewing at 11:30 A.M., services to follow at 12:00. Graveside service will follow on Monday August 20th at Mt. View Memorial Park in Barstow at 11:00 A.M.
