Our father Valentine M. Marquez, was our foundation of the Marquez family, he showed us how to be strong individuals, to never give up and to be kind. Dad would talk to anyone and he would win their hearts immediately. I remember as a child how much him and mom had to work to feed our family of 10 kids, cloth us, and to keep a roof over our heads. He would go from one job to another and never complained, he always had a smile, kind word, and hug for each of us. He was our mentor, doctor, and hero. He taught me how to roll tortillas, eat chilies, and the importance of doing everything with a positive attitude and to the best of our abilities and never give up. When we were sick or injured ourselves, he would bandage us up and let us know we would be fine. He loved to sing; the first song I heard him sing was Cucurrucucu Paloma, cucurrucucu, no llores. He would light up when he was singing:-). Dad loved each and everyone of us; especially our mother, I know it was hard for him to leave mom, he hung on as long as he could. Dearest father you will always be in our hearts, souls, minds and we will continue to make you proud of us. We promise to take care of mom, your wife and the love of your life. Rest now dear father, know that you were an awesome man, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, you have touched many lives and they all have wonderful memories of you. We all remember our Irish name, O'Marquez, ha, ha, you are our superhero:-). Go rest in peace and be with Nina and Nancy, hug them and kiss them for us, we will all see you all again!! Your loving daughter Gina
