I haven't seen Jesse in over 10 years. Something told me to Google him to see about reaching out. Ever since I got cancer I have been trying to reach out to those I have missed.  I can't believe he is gone. At one point in my life I loved him more than I could put into words. Life without him was miserable but I at least knew he was where he wanted to be and was happy. I can't believe he is gone.  Mr and Mrs Powell, you may not remember me but this is Michelle from Leesburg.  I thought of you all over the years. I am so very sorry for your loss. He truly was a great person and honestly the best guy I have ever known. ❤

Captain Powell was so knowledgeable and always had such a great attitude. He was a pleasure to work with and was truly a great leader. I will continue to pray for you during this very difficult time.

CPT Powell was my first true experience of a phenomenal leader in the bureau. I would follow him no matter what the circumstances because of his knowledge and character. Everyone lost an amazing soul in their lives but know that he is watch from the top and making notations of who misses there rounds. Rest easy sir we will continue to walk until we meet again. J. Jesse was a joy to have as a son, we want to thank all of the wonderful things being said about him. It a great and sudden loss to all who knew, loved and respected hlm. We, his family all share in your loss.

May you rest in peace Captain Powell. Had the honor of working under your supervision at FCI La Tuna and at Carswell. You always had a smile and kept seeing the best in every situation now matter how many curve ball were thrown your way. You were a great leader who always took care of his staff. Thank you for your service and may God bless your family and provide strength and comfort. 

Lt. Powell provided guidance and patience-especially to non-custody staff when situations of the job demanded all staff to work as officers. His kindness was displayed for all to see while walking his dog around the base housing and parking lot at Carswell. My condolences to his wife and family for their loss. God bless.

My prayers and thoughts of comfort for the family. Lt Powell was a great supervisor ! I had much respect for him. I knew Lt Powell from Carswell. He also helped my animal rescue organization from time to time. Thank you Lt Powell for your kindness. Your kindness will definitely be a big part of how everyone will remember you. I would like to say thank you to His family for sharing him with us.  He was the epitome of a great supervisor who always took care of people (staff and inmate alike).  He led by being the example that others could emulate.  He will be missed by many.
