Annie was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Margaret Adkins and Patrick H. B. Richardson on March 28, 1947. Her family moved to Richardson, Texas in the early 1960s and she graduated from Richardson High School. After graduating from Trinity University, she began her career with Gulf Oil and continued working with the company after it became Chevron. Annie also worked for Larson-Juhl and Alere in the Atlanta area.
Annie was an avid golfer, often travelling all over the United States and the world to play her favorite sport. After moving to Bastrop in 2021, she quickly became active in the golf and pickleball communities, where she forged many new friendships while continuing to cherish those she had built over decades.
Annie loved to read and enjoyed classic movies. She was a natural dancer, lighting up dance floors with grace and joy. Quick-witted and sharp, she delighted in intelligent conversation and playful banter. She was a natural storyteller, often taking the scenic route before arriving at the punchline, a quality those who loved her came to expect and cherish. Anyone who knew Annie soon heard stories about her beloved mother and aunt, as well as the many cats Annie adored throughout her life.
Annie is survived by her nephews, Chris Richardson and his wife, Lisa, and Joel Richardson and his wife, Jenny; her great-nieces, Sadie and Clara Richardson; and her great-nephew, Ethan Richardson. Annie is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Richardson.
Burial of her ashes will take place at the Antioch Baptist Church in Stephens, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bastrop CATS at bastropcats.org or Antioch Baptist Church in Stephens, Georgia.
