Samuel Longoria Jr.

Samuel was born on September 19, 1938, in Garciasville, Texas, to Samuel Longoria Sr. and Ramona Solis Longoria. On October 12, 1955, he married the love of his life, Olivia Barrera Longoria. Together, they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage and built a loving family with their five children.

A dedicated Master Plumber by trade, Samuel served the Bastrop, Giddings, Austin, and many surrounding Texas cities for many years. He was also a member of the Bastrop Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Samuel found joy in the simple things in life. He loved spending time riding his backhoe, enjoying a bowl of ice cream, and, most of all, spoiling his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was known for his caring heart, and deep love for his family and friends.

Samuel is survived by his children: Samuel Longoria III, Narce Dalia Longoria Maldonado, Norma Linda Longoria Garcia, Ricardo Longoria, and Noelia Longoria Rodea. He also leaves behind his sons-in-law, Pablo Maldonado Jr., Eduardo Garcia, Brian Graham, and Francisco Rodea, and daughter-in-law, Amy McAllister Longoria as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other cherished family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olivia Barrera Longoria; his sisters, Florence Rosales and Helen Aleman; and his parents, Samuel Longoria Sr. and Ramona Solis Longoria.

The family of Samuel Longoria Jr. extends their heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Fred Snell and Toni Snell; the caring staff of Bastrop Lost Pines Nursing Home and Rehabilitation and Silver Pines Nursing Home and Rehabilitation; Bastrop Providence Funeral Home; and the many family members and friends whose love, prayers, and support have brought comfort during this time.

Samuel’s legacy of faith, hard work, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, TX 78602, US, on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
