Teri was born on September 11, 1957 in Belvidere, Illinois to Sandra W (Willis) and Gerald F. Higgins. Teri and her family moved to Austin, Texas in 1968.
Teri is survived by her sister Dana, daughter Erin, her grandchildren, Dakoda, Ryan and Grace, sister-in-law Margaret, and nephews Nathan and Jared. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 24 years, Frank J. Olsovsky, Jr, Teri and Frank originally met while attending McCallum High School and became reacquainted several years later and were eventually married in 1993.
Teri was always kind and generous with everyone she knew and had developed and maintained close, lasting friendships with her extended family and coworkers. She provided loving support to her grandchildren with all aspects of their lives and encouraged their growth and education. Teri had an enduring softness toward animals and had rescued and cared for several dogs and cats. She enjoyed raising chickens (but did not like roosters). There were several common interests that she developed to stay in touch with everyone, such as books, searching for and trying new recipes, crafting, playing Wordle with friends, and “Bingo Wednesdays” with her mother-in-law and sister-in-law.
Teri fought valiantly against a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. She exemplified what it means to be brave.
Donations to honor her memory can be made to a local animal rescue organization or to the charity of your own choosing.
The family has chosen to hold a private memorial service.
