

Betty Vanderlinde, lovingly known as “Mimi,” was born in Mississippi and passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on November 10, 1936, and lived a long life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Betty was the only child of John T. Fisher and Ginnie Lee Fisher, who preceded her in death. She
was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Larry Jamal Welch, and her step-daughter, Corrine
Van Der Linde Johnson.
Betty will be deeply missed by her devoted daughter, Mona Nealy who will forever cherish her memory and
carry forward the love and strength she instilled.
She is survived by her daughter Mona Nealy, her step-daughter Johanna Van Der Linde-Rosales
and her step-son Kurt Van Der Linde. Her adopted daughter\friend Rita Bivens. Her friend\”sister” Karen Minnifield
of 60 years and family. Grandchildren: Tanya Welch, Don Holmes, Jamal Welch, Devin Nealy,Preston Hall
and Kendra Patterson. She also leaves behind her step-grandchildren: Nicole Johnson Raphaely, Meegan
Johnson, Greg Johnson, Carl Johnson,Triana Nerey, Sabastiana Mulhall, Glynn Johnson II, Adam Rosales,
Tristan Van Der Linde, and Carter Van DerLinde.
Mimi was blessed with several great-grandchildren: Tia Pitts, Tyler Pitts, Jaylen Nealy, Braedin Holmes,
Daylon Holmes, Phoenix Hall, Emily Welch, Taylor Nealy, and Hailey Nealy. Mimi was also blessed with Two
Great-great-grandsons: Elisha Howard and Kameron Howard of whom brought her immense happiness and joy.
Betty will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the deep love she had for her family. Betty’s presence will
be deeply missed, but her love, strength, and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
which included a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
