Daniel Brian Cline Sr.

Daniel Brian Cline Sr., 77, passed away on August 11, 2026. Born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 12, 1949, Daniel built a life defined by steady devotion to others, a ready sense of humor, and the kind of hard work that quietly strengthens families and communities alike. Daniel resided in Hemet, California.

Daniel attended Claremont High School in San Diego and went on to earn a B.A. from San Diego State University, carrying forward a practical intelligence and grounded perspective that served him throughout his life.

In his working life, Daniel devoted himself to public service, serving as a Riverside County Volunteer Fire Fighter, a CDF Dispatcher, and a Riverside County Probation Officer. Across these roles, he was known for showing up when needed, doing the difficult work without fanfare, and bringing compassion to responsibilities that often demanded both firmness and understanding.

Daniel married Denise Fillion, and together they had three children: Brian, Renee, and James. His legacy is reflected in the good parenting and selflessness with which he raised his children—an enduring gift that will continue through the family he loved so deeply. He was a proud grandfather to Lily, Niamh, and Harry.

Daniel is survived by his three children, three grandchildren; as well as his brother, Dennis; his sisters, Diane and Karen; his sister-in-law Sue; and his dog, Gus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Barbara.

Outside of work and family, Daniel found joy in diving, off-roading, and gardening—interests that suited his energetic spirit and practical hands, and that often offered the simple satisfaction of time well spent.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Weaver Mortuary on Friday, September 4 at 11am. A catered reception will be to follow at 12pm. Daniel will be laid to rest at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego; the interment will be held privately.
