

Daniel Russell Flores, 78, of Nuevo, California, passed away in his sleep on June 14, 2024 after a vigorous battle with lymphoma. Born on July 28, 1945, in Loma Linda, CA, he was the son of the late Anselmo and Hermila Flores. He is preceded in death by his sisters Louise Lynch, Rosa Blegen, and first born son, Damon Flores.
Daniel grew up on the Haskell Ranch in San Timoteo canyon near Beaumont, CA where his father was the ranch hand. There he was instilled with the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the thrill of adventure. He went to school in Beaumont where he learned English as a second language, played percussion in the band, and was a defensive end and linebacker for the high school football team.
Daniel was a loyal member of the UFCW for 35 years, starting as a box boy for Alpha Beta Supermarket as a teenager and worked his way up to a produce manger and district manager over multiple locations in Southern California. In his retirement, he worked security for Perris Auto Speedway and was a high school CIF football referee.
He married Sharon Parker in 1965, and together they had two children. His second marriage was to Debra Nelson in 1980 and together they had twins, who were born on his birthday, and lived on horse property in Nuevo, CA for 44 years.
Daniel is survived by his wife Debbie, of Nuevo, CA, daughter Monica Trousdale of Hemet, CA, son Daniel Flores, Jr. of Healdsburg, CA, daughter Deanna Thornberry of Menifee, CA, and sister Carolina Flores Wittman of Bonita, CA, and 13 grandchildren.
He loved the outdoors, enjoyed backpacking, rock climbing, racing motorcycles, riding his Tenessee Walker, Sonny, and cooking BBQ in his backyard.
He will be remembered as a strong, caring Father, a loyal, dedicated friend, and an all-around nice guy who loved to have fun.
A memorial service will be held on July 5th at 10am at Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont, CA with a reception to follow at 1:30pm at Edward-Dean Museum in Cherry Valley, CA.
