At the age of 21, Daniel joined the U. S. Army on August 23, 1967. During his six years of service, he rose to the rank of Sergeant. Daniel was honorably discharged on August 22, 1973.
Daniel Myers returned home to Texas, to his former wife Mary Jo Myers and helped to raise their three sons Daryl, Rodney and Byron.
In 1997, Daniel Myers decided to start a new life in California and he reunited with Mary O. Martin. Daniel proposed to Mary and they were married on August 2, 2002.
During his time in Los Angeles, California Daniel became a distinguished MTA bus driver for 10 years. After living in Los Angeles, California, the Myers retired to the Beaumont, California area.
Daniel was a phenomenal family man and a man of faith. He was consistently caring for all his family members, both in Texas and in California.
Daniel Myers returned to the Lord, our Father, on July 30, 2014.
Daniel is survived by his wife Mary Martin - Myers; three sons Anthony J. Martin, Sr. (wife Laura Martin) of California, Daryl Myers (wife Carmen Myers) of Texas and Rodney Myers (wife Donnya Myers) of Texas and his step-daughter Tina Brown (husband Doug Brown) of California and a plethora of grandchildren. Special honor to his sisters from Texas Hazel Powell-Myers, Mattie Roberts, Lois Myers-Burns and Evelyn Preston.
Funeral service Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 10:00am, at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Interment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California. Military honors will be provided by the U. S. Army.
Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California.
