

Daniel Blake Seymour of Cherry Valley, California formerly of Chino Hills, California passed away peacefully at home after a courageous five year battle with colon cancer. He was called to be with the Lord on September 13, 2015. Dan was born on October 26, 1950 in Long Beach, California to Willett Harding Seymour and Ruth Mae Wilkinson.
Dan received a BS degree and Masters degree in microbiology from Cal State Long Beach. He was employed for 35 years by Beckman Coulter in Brea, California which develops, manufactures and markets automated systems, supplies and reagents used for biological analysis in laboratories for research, QC and clinical diagnostics.
Dan was a project manager for the Immunochemistry Development Department. He was honored for his innovative ideas with two patent awards during his tenure at Beckman. Dan was a man of the utmost integrity and kindness and regarding his time at Beckman wanted to be remembered for always putting the outcome of the project above his own benefit or that of anyone else in the organization.
Dan loved his family and friends and was devoted to his wife Michele (Shelly) of 38 years whom he met through a mutual friend during college in 1975. They were married two years later on August 27, 1977 and had two sons Jeffrey Ryan of Phoenix, Arizona and Timothy Blake of Silver Strand Beach, California.
Dan had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed racquetball, keeping physically fit, lifting weights, target shooting, walking and taking hikes in the hills with his beloved Australian Shepherd Sydney. He was an avid reader and enjoyed science fiction novels and his car magazines.
Dan enjoyed working on cars and especially loved his 1994 Mitsubishi Turbo Eclipse which he totally rebuilt out in his garage in Chino Hills. He passed his love of cars onto his two sons and enjoyed talking to them about anything to do with cars. He loved helping and teaching them how to work on their own cars. He also enjoyed aviation and attending the annual air show at the Chino Airport with his son Tim, friends and coworkers.
Dan recently took up golf and could often be seen playing with his brother in law Bill and sister in law Maureen on the Highland Springs Village Golf Course in Cherry Valley. Dan loved learning the game of golf and was intent on improving his game.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Michele, son Jeffrey Ryan and Timothy Blake and his sister Dianne Arthur from Hemet, California.

Memorial Mass Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Christ Cathedral Tower of Hope - Chapel in the Sky, Garden Grove, California. Private burial will take place at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange, California.
Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California.
A beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived, everyone's friend. In our hearts, a memory will always be kept, of one we loved, and will never forget.
