It’s hard to believe it has been 11 years since your passing.  I miss your calm nature.  I think of you whenever I hear Jonathan play piano.  I keep your music in my playlist and listen often. 

My sympathy to the family. I worked at the UofR  and remember this great man. His life lives on with his music and words I've been listening to lately.  KNOW MY HEART (Keys of Light Publishing ASCP)  My search for permission to use the  words and music lead me to this place today.

This message is 8 years late because I just came upon this page while trying to find David to reconnect.   Please accept  my sincere condolences.
David was my instructor at the University of Redlands and was the only instructor that understood and helped me on my musical journey teaching me music theory, theory of arrangement, and jazz improv simultaneously.   I still have all of the music books, and his notes to me for practice.   
I will be eternally grateful for the way he accelerated my learning through his consistent and very effective instruction.  
His impact on me was profound, and I hope that your family can find some comfort in these word.   

Just to let your family know we will never forget you and all the years we spent together listening to you play piano for us on Sunday morning at church and the wonderful friendship we had and to say a final farewell to your guest book.

Dear Mrs. Griswold and Family,
Words cannot express our deep sorrow at the loss of a truly wonderful and talented man. His love of God and family was a testiment each time he performed his music and taught his students. He worked with Jeffrey for hours to find just the right type of music which would inspire a young boy to practice. Our son still plays those jazz pieces. Jacqueline had a teacher who encouraged her to challenge herself. He supported her choice to be a music major. Please know Mr. Griswold's influence goes beyond the teaching of piano...it will be everlasting until Jesus returns. Then they can all play music together. Ps 30:5 "

It's hard to find the right words to say. I'm still in shock. I feel like I've grown up with the Griswold family. He has been mine and my brothers piano teacher since we were basically babies. He has taught us everything we know about piano playing and the magic you can create just by playing from your heart. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him can see what a difference he has made in each of their lives. I know I am not alone in saying the world has lost a truly significant individual. My prayers go out to the Griswold family. My life would not have been the same without him.

David was a wonderful friend and fellow believer from our New York City days in the mid-1980s, when David was in NYC studying music.  David was warm and giving, and the friend I needed when I was still pretty young and far from home in NYC. May the Lord comfort David's loved ones, and may David enjoy eternal peace and joy in heaven with our Savior.

My prayers in Christ with Robin and family. Dave was my piano teacher at the UofR Community School of Music. Such an amazing man. I will miss him.

I played with David from the 1st grade on, we went to different Jr Highs, but we were always friends.  I am now 50. We had many sleep overs as we were growing up.  To me, he was a life long friend. He was kind, gentle, intelligent & compassionate.  We shared _so_ much.  Robin and family, you know as well as I do that he . . . is. . . home resting with our Lord, and is urging us to meet him there.  I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Robin and family,

I was one of David's piano students. I learned so much from him. I appreciated his thoughtful, caring and meticulous teaching style. I'm sending prayers your way as you walk this part of life's journey.

Dear Robin and family, Dave and I were friends in college but had lost contact. He was always such a talented good soul. The meories of his life, values will always be with you.

Dave, was a honorable man and servant of God in his deeds and actions. Many say what being a Christian is but few live it.  Dave lived his faith, to his family, to his friends, and to the world. We are grateful to have known him.

Thank you Griswolds for a beautiful example of a godly family.  Bob and I are thankful for the many years of wonderful music and look forward to even more glorious music one day when we are all reunited in heaven.  Thank you for such a beautiful uplifting celebration of Dave's life today.  May the lord fill your hearts today with the peace and fullness only He can give.

Hello Darryl and I attended the lovely services today.  We have attended the Packinghouse for over 19 years and have always enjoyed David's playing.  
It is such a blessing that he and Terry are now together again, making beautiful music.

We have known David for many years and we will miss him. Just to think how wonderful it must be walking on the streets of Heaven and holding hands with God. May your family find peace knowing that someday you will all be together again.

David was truly gifted. We will miss his music. I am sure he   is playing heavenly music for our Father. Dick and Theresa Larsen.
