Della M. Russell

Della May Russell of Cherry Valley, CA passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2012. She was born on April 30, 1918 in Hartford, SD. She moved to CA in 1936 where she met and later married Carl Andersen in 1939. They had two sons, Steve and C. Wayne. Carl passed away in 1981. She later married Leon Russell in 1987; they had 16 good years together until his death in 2003. Della’s working career included positions as Senior Bookkeeper, Auditor, and Executive Secretary. For more than 30 years she was an active member of Fellowship In The Pass Church in Beaumont. She is survived by her sister Betty Pinney, son C. Wayne Andersen, step children Robert Russell (Kathie) and Linda Stratton, six grandchildren Susan Esse, Heather Imhof, Shelly Raines, Sandy Berk, Debbie Jenkins, Deanna Adley and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, husbands Carl Andersen and Leon Russell and son Steve Andersen. Della was interned at Rose Hills, Whittier, CA on June 1, 2012. A celebration of life will be held at Fellowship In The Pass Church, 650 Oak Valley Parkway Beaumont, CA on June 11, 2012 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fellowship In The Pass building fund.
