Dennis D. Dunham died on December 11, 2012, at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born September 14, 1940, in Toppenish, Washington, to Ed and Sylvia (Reeves) Dunham. He was predeceased by both of his parents and two sisters, Sylvia Doreen Evett and Janice Lang. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Arlene Dunham, living at Panorama City; his daughter, Deborah Bouis-Dunham and his grandson, Cole Boysen, of Olympia; as well as his son, Gregory Dunham of Ilwaco, Washington. His surviving sister,Joy Dodeward, lives in Selah, Washington. There are also several nieces and nephews in Eastern Washington and Oregon.
Mr. Dunham was raised in Wapato, Washington, where he graduated from high school in 1958. He was active in Future Farmers of America and received the honor of State Farmer of the Year. Immediately upon graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Texas, California and South Korea. He moved to Olympia, Washington shortly after he met his wife-to-be and they were married April 12, 1963.
Mr. Dunham began his accounting career with a CPA in Olympia by the name of Charley Stickney and started to work in 1964 as an accountant for Panorama City, which has since become Panorama Corporation. After 40 years, he retired having served as Secretary-Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance. Since retirement, he served four years as Treasurer of the Home Owner's Association where he and his wife have a winter residence in Rancho Mirage, California.
Mr. Dunham was a charter member of Capitol City Lions Club. He served as President of Big Brothers of Olympia and started their annual golf tournament. He was also a former member of the Eagles Club and the Elks Club of Olympia, as well as Indian Summer Country and Golf Club.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California and a memorial service will be held in Lacy, Washington, at a later date. Remembrances should be sent to a charity of choice.
