When her family moved to Lometa, California, Doris met the love of her life, James "Jimmy" Robinson. High school sweethearts, they married on June 26, 1965, just two weeks after Doris graduated, and shared 54 happy years until Jimmy's passing in 2019.
Doris moved to the Hemet Valley in 1970 and remained a proud resident of Riverside County for the rest of her life, residing with her daughter since 2018.
She devoted herself to raising her two children, Stephen and Tracey, and was a beloved childcare provider in her own home before working in retail. She spent many years at JCPenney's, in catalog and later in the cash room, before retiring.
Doris was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Robinson (Melissa), and is remembered by his daughter, Hillary Hart. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Tracey Allison (Jason), and granddaughter, Marleigh Allison — the light of her life. Doris and Tracey were inseparable, sharing countless trips to Sea World, musicals, Sizzler, and the movies.
Raised Catholic, Doris later found her faith home in Baptist and Nazarene churches, often joking she was a "Nazaraptist." She loved to sing, lending her voice to church choirs and the Hemet Harmoneers for many years, and once performed alongside Tracey in a college production of Fiddler on the Roof.
An introvert at heart, Doris was funny, warm, and loving — a "Grammy" to all who knew her. She adored Mary Poppins, Grogu, mystery novels, gaming at home and in Laughlin, shopping, eating out, and the family dog, Prince.
As Doris liked to say, "If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies." She lived a full and happy life and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
