

Hazel Skinner passed away at her home in Beaumont, California, on May 27, 2011. She was born in Vilas, Colorado, on July 26, 1916, to Andrew and Dora (Magers) Nichols. She was the youngest of four sisters and raised on a farm where they grew corn and maize. Hazel was married to Lloyd Otis Skinner on November 20, 1946, in Cushing, Oklahoma. They had one daughter, Kay Arlene. They moved to California in 1956. Lloyd passed away February 17, 1957. Hazel raised Kay and never remarried. Hazel worked as a shirt presser for Prudential Overall Supply, in Arlington, California for 15+ years and they lived in Mira Loma as Kay was growing up. Hazel had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others when she could. She was a good Christian woman and raised Kay with more love than anyone could ever ask for. She was down to earth...a good Southern Baptist. She will be missed more than words can express, she was loved by everyone that knew her. Hazel loved her See's candy and was the best cook ever. She taught Kay how to be a darn good cook just like her. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Dora; her husband, Lloyd; and her sisters, Nora Nichols Nevis, Elise Nichols and Elizabeth (Betty) Nichols Bright. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Hamlin; her son-in-law, William (Bill) Hamlin; Granddaughter, Arlene Yarbrough (Childers) and Grandson, Lloyd Dean Childers and his wife, Lisa Childers, all of Texas; Granddaughter, Dawn Marie Becker & David Lenzer of Kingman, Arizona and Grandson, Michael Robert Hamlin and his wife Barbara Hamlin of Moreno Valley, California. She was also blessed with four Great Grandchildren; Christopher Boyd Yarbrough-12, Evan William Childers-2, Ryan Scott Hamlin-5 and Alyson Rene Hamlin-3. She also leaves behind a countless number of friends. She was loved by everyone and will be truly missed by her family and friends. Funeral service was at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, California, Monday, May 30, 2011, at 2:00 PM. She was laid to rest at Mt. View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Ave, Beaumont, California. Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, CA.
