Irene Yokota Ayala was born on April 09, 1925. The youngest among the three daughters born from the blissful marriage of Shintaro Yokota and Quirina del Castillo. She graduated at Naga City College with the Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Started her teaching career at Collegio del Santisimo Rosario (Holy Rosary Academy). She was married to Cornelio Ayala and had 7 children, namely; Virgilio (aka Bill), Virginia (deceased), Vera (deceased), Veritas, Venchi (deceased), Violet and Vida.
Irene loved working at the Land Registration Commission for a long time and she was ecstatic when she was chosen to join the “Bagong Lipunan” chorale also known as the Blue Ladies of the First Lady, Imelda Marcos. She was well travelled. She started her ballroom dancing at age 60 and became her favorite exercise.
She left behind the 4 surviving children, 21 grandkids, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandkid.
