Hello Jeff. It's been 11 years since I last seen you. We're were at a party and you came up hugged me and told me you needed to appologize to me for something I had no idea that you had even done. You had such a good heart. And the nicest hug. 
I'll never forget the 8th grade in English class when you though it would be a good idea tonput a paperclip into the electrical socket and you burnt your windbreaker sleeve. It was hillarious. Although anything your middle school crush does is funny. 
I always remember your warm and sweet smile, your love for life and music, and the impact you left on the beaumont community. Some how everyone knew of you, and was heartbroken you were gone. 
I hope you enjoy the Lords kingdom, until we meet again.

Two years two months, it never gets easier. I miss you son so very much!
Im thankful for our wonderful memories we had..... but my heart is broken and there will always be a piece missing. I wish I had the answer of WHY....WHY you were taken from us at such a young age....We all miss you more than words can say.....please watch over your brothers....they need you!

AT THE END OF SILVER LAKE, JUST PAST THE ROCK DAM WHERE RUSH CREEK BEGINS, I SAW A SIGHT THAT WAS SO POWERFUL THAT I FELT COMPELLED TO REFLECT ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE GIFT OF LIFE. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED IN SEPTEMBER 2012. I WAS WALKING ATOP THE ROCKS THAT FORM A PARTIAL BARRIER AT THE END OF SILVER LAKE. LOOKING DOWN TO MAKE SURE I WOULD STEP ONTO A SAFE PLACE, I SAW A ROCK THAT SEEMED OUT OF PLACE. MY CURIOSITY LED ME TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK. PEERING THROUGH THE CLEAR WATER, I WAS FLOORED. ON THIS ROCK WAS A BEAUTIFUL POEM OF LOVE TO JEFFERY. WHILE STANDING ATOP RUSH CREEK A WONDERFUL FEELING RAN THROUGHOUT MY BODY. HOW THOUGHTFUL THIS PERSON, OR PERSONS MUST BE TO TRAVEL TO THIS FAR AWAY PLACE TO CREATE A MEMORIAL TO A LOVED ONE.  I KNOW HOW I FELT WHEN MY FATHER PASSED ON. MY BROTHERS AND I HAD A MEMORIAL ON THE EAST FORK OF THE SAN GABRIEL RIVER, A PLACE THAT WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR THE WONDERFUL TIME WE SPENT THERE WHILE HE WAS ALIVE. I AM SURE THAT THIS MEMORIAL TO JEFFERY ON RUSH CREEK, ALTHOUGH SAD, BROUGHT JOY TO THOSE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO REMEMBER HIM AT SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. I'LL ADMIT IT HERE AND NOW, I DID SHED A TEAR. WHILE WADING THE WATERS BELOW THE ROCK DAM AT THE END OF SILVER LAKE, I ONCE AGAIN FELT OVERCOME BY A BEAUTIFUL  AND LOVING SIGHT. IN THE SHALLOW WATERS WERE TWO CERAMIC BUTTERFLIES PAINTED AND ENSCRIBED WITH LOVING WORDS TO JEFFERY. ON THE OPPOSITE BANK, ATOP A LARGE BOULDER WAS A RECTANGULAR SHAPED ROCK WITH THE NAME JEFFERY PAINTED IN BLACK LETTERS, WITH A COLORFUL RAINBOW ON TOP.  A CROSS WAS AFFIXED AT THE END OF JEFFERY'S NAME. THIS IS POWERFUL STUFF. AGAIN I COULD NOT HELP BUT REFLECT ON THE LOVE THESE PEOPLE HAVE FOR JEFFERY, AND HOW JEFFERY MUST HAVE TOUCHED THEIR HEARTS. I AM A GROWN MAN, BUT I GUESS I AM A LITTLE SENTIMENTAL. AGAIN A TEAR WAS SHED, BUT I THINK IT MAY HAVE BEEN A TEAR OF JOY, AS THIS MEMORIAL IS TRULY AN ACT OF LOVE. JUST AS I WAS READY TO CONTINUE MY WALK DOWN RUSH CREEK, I LOOKED DOWN AT A SIGHT SO  POWERFUL THAT IT STOPPED ME IN MY TRACKS. THERE, SET A THE BASE OF A PINE TREE, ENSCRIBED ON WHAT LOOKS LIKE A BEAUTIFULLY CARVED PIECE OF SLATE ABOUT THE SIZE OF A TEXT BOOK, WAS THIS BEAUTIFUL POEM TO JEFFERY. “AT NIGHT WHEN THE STARS LIGHT UP MY ROOM, I SIT BY MYSELF TALKING TO THE MOON, TRYING TO GET TO YOU IN HOPES YOU ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE TALKING TO ME TOO”  THE DATE IS 10/9/13. I ASSUME THE FOUR INITIALS OF A.C, S.H, K.R. AND C.J. ARE THE PERSONS WHO SO THOUGHFULLY CREATED THIS MEMORIAL. CONSIDERING THE EFFORT INVOLVED IN CREATING THIS MEMORIAL, AND THE TRAVEL RERQUIRED TO GET HERE, ONE CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT THIS LOVELY AREA MUST HAVE BEEN A FAVORITE PLACE FOR JEFFERY. HOW WONDERFUL TO BE REMEMBERED BY SUCH LOVING PEOPLE IN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. I HOPE JEFFERY IS RESTING IN PEACE ALONG WITH ALL OF MY LOVED ONES WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE GIFT OF LIFE HERE ON EARTH. The Sunsets have been so amazing lately and it mad me realize that fall is here and the Seirras will be blanketed with snow...a place where Jeff was so humbled by...

When I first started going to Beaumont High, it was a completely new environment for me and I only knew a few others. I had a 1st period computer class during my freshman year and I sat right next to Jeff. He was the very first person in any of my classes who talked to me and made me feel a lot more comfortable about being a new kid. He was also in a few of my other classes along the line and I still remember talking about common interests like music. He was honestly the nicest dude and I just wanted to pay my respects. He's definitely missed by many.

Thank you Steve for taking time out for our Jeffrey.. and God bless you for your thoughtfulness..this was Jeff's favorite place :-)

I do not know any of you and would like to offer my condolences on your loss. I saw a memorial for Jeffrey in rush creek by Silver Lake and wanted to know more so I googled  his name and I found this page. by all of your kind words I can tell he was a good man and made a lasting impression.

It's been a year since you've been gone from the world son....I miss you so much I can barely breathe...I hear you tell me, " Don't cry dad, I'm ok...." and I take another breath and live another day...see you soon Jeff:-) ...I love you,  Dad

Jeff- I only had the honor of meeting you once on a camping trip at Silver Lake, you were so kind and generous to my son, Casey.  Though I did not know you for a long time - I felt connected to you, through an Uncle's  love of his nephew.  Uncle Jerry was so proud of you, he shared many memories of you and your your brothers growing up.  You were quite the fisherman and had so many other talents.  

You will be missed Jeff, by your mom, dad, brothers, uncles, aunts, Grandparents, friends and someone you only met once for a short time.  I will honor your memory and keep you in my heart.

Jeff, I didn't know you that well, but you were truly a funny, great guy. You always kept things entertaining never a dull moment. Your smile lit up a room like a Christmas tree. Personally I wish I'd gotten to know you more to honestly know how great of a guy you were. We'll truly miss you Jeff.

Yesterday morning, on my way to work, I got a call from my love, Michele. 
She shared an event with me that touched her heart and hearing her tell it I understood why.

Michele has two teenage boys: Cole, and Casey.  Cole is 19 and graduated from Carmel High this last June and Casey is 16 and started his junior year at Carmel High just yesterday.

So Michele comes home from work Tuesday and is making dinner for her and the boys.  This is the night before Casey starts back at school and he has his school backpack propped up in a chair at the kitchen table all loaded up with and ready for school. Casey is in the other room playing a video game and Cole comes into the kitchen, pulls Casey's notebook out of his backpack, grabs a pen and begins to write something in the notebook.  Mom asks, “Coley? what'cha writing son?”  Cole flashes a none-of-your-beeswax wry smile at his Mom, and turns back to his writing.  He finishes up, slides the notebook back into Casey's backpack and lumbers off.
After dinner, Mom is cleaning up the kitchen, Cole's in his room; Casey is back to the video game.  Michele said she thought, “I could NOT read what Cole wrote in Casey's notebook.”  But then she thought, “what if he wrote some crazy nonsense that gets him expelled his first day of school!”  That would be bad.
So she decides the responsible thing to do is to have a peek.  She pulls the notebook out of Casey's backpack, opens it up and sees that Cole has written his brother a full-page “good luck in your first day of school” note.  Totally unprompted, Cole sat down and wrote this note to his brother full of encouragement and praise and love.
In the note Cole tells Casey how proud he is of his brother.  He tells Casey how smart he is and how funny he is and how he's capable of greatness if he just puts his mind to something.  It's just this awesome brother-to-brother moment.
Michele finishes reading and quietly puts the notebook back into Casey's backpack, finishes tidying up the kitchen and then jumps in the shower.  As she's in the shower, she begins to cry.  She's just so touched by what she's read, by this profound gesture of a brother's love in Cole's note to Casey, so proud of her son, just feeling so blessed.  And then her thoughts find their way to Jeffery… and to Dylan, Teddy and Michael and the profound loss of their brother.   And more tears flow…

But the reason she told me this story and the reason I'm telling you this story has less to do with the heavy heart and tears.  What lifted me was that at its core, it's a story of love.  A brother's love, and a Mother's love and a reminder of our deep love for Jeffery.

Right now, we mourn the loss of Jeffery and the pain can rise up so raw and so profound that we struggle to breath.
We feel cheated and angry and we miss Jeff deeply.
But this pain and anger and deep sadness have nothing to do with Jeff.

Jeffery is light, and hope and grace and love.

Words  can not express the sorrow that has been felt for the loss of you my cousin. Sorrow like this is only felt when the world loses a truly great and remarkable person, which you were. You touched the lives of so many. You will never be forgotten cousin. Keep a spot warm for me, and tell Randy and Grandma we miss them.  I love you Jeff.

Oh! I can't believe you are gone and now an angel watching down on us. We all miss you so much as you are smiling down on us. I will miss that contagious smile! I will never forget you as a baby on the heart monitor, watching you boys at the anzio house and at the Redlands house. I'm so glad to see you graduate high school and see how excited you were to graduate. I'm so glad you have come to my mom's the past couple of Christmas' and it never fails you would always forget something... So you would come back to pick it up! I so wish that us older cousins stuck to our word and crashed your 21st birthday party like we were going to. Now we are all kicking our butt that we didn't! I love you Jeff!! Continue to watch over us and give us the strength to get through this!!!

Jeff will be missed so much in my household. I'll never forget his love for music and and the great outdoors. All I can think about is that now when you drop your phone, it will bounce on the clouds of heaven! See you again "someday" my friend!

Oh my Little Jeffers - Words will never express the pain we feel without you. I will always remember taking care of you as a baby and how I always looked forward to coming home from school in the afternoon cause the first thing  would do is walk next door to play with you. You were such a cute, sweet little one and grew up to be a handsome and caring man. I guess a funny memory was when you were little and we would babysit you (me, your brothers and a couple other cousins - you know who you are) we would have pacifier taste tests with you and Dylan where we would put different stuff on your pacifiers (sugar, chocolate syrup, pickle juice, lemon, you name it) and laugh at all the funny faces you two would make. Just told your Mom about it this year, she didn't think it was that funny, but we sure did! I miss you cousin -  always will! You will always be in our hearts and memories...you were so loved by us all.

Jeff, Looking at the pictures of you growing up brought back great memories. I remember jumping with you on the trampoline and going swimming at your house. I am so glad that you came to Christmas Eve at Auntie's the last couple of years. All the memories I have of you will never be forgotten and neither will you. Rest in Peace cousin! I love you!

  I have been trying all day to find the words to say. I am so heartbroken from this whole thing. I remember (just like all your other cousins) when you were little and having your heart monitor go off and we were all afraid something was wrong with you. I remember babysitting you a million times and going on family trips, like Catalina! I still remember when you said my name for the first time in the backyard of your Anzio house. My name is so hard to say for little kids, and you said it perfectly! I am so sad that I will never get to see your contagious smile again. We were going to crash your 21st birthday party, and all us "older" cousins didn't want to ruin your birthday. Well.. I wish we ruined it. I wish we busted in on the celebration! I have kicked myself numerous times for not going. Thank you for being part of my life! I am hoping that we find strength within our family to get your brothers and parents through this horrible time!

you are one of the most loved people in this town obviously. i remember the good old days chillin at the circle park or the aquaducts. all that changed when the first person in the crew got their white F150. you mobbed that thing everywhere and anywhere. i will always remember how good you were at the geetar man. i always loved to hear you play. or after we wernt in sundance anymore and the days we chilled were few and far between and how excited i was when krystin told me you were on your way haha. you were one of the most chill and down i knew. you were never out to hurt anyone. i miss you man. keep an eye on us all from up there.

I know how much you are loved - it is equal to how much you are missed.  I cherish the time I spent with you and through your loving family, kept up on your accomplishments in life and the joy you gave so many.  I see you in each blossoming flower, the sun in the sky, the stars in the night....I feel blessed to have known you.  We send loving support to your family and friends, of which there is abundance.

Jeff you are the reason my 9 year old son Jacob loves to skateboard. When Jacob was 2, he used to watch Jeff and Dylan ride and do tricks.  He watched them both in awe. I will always remember you Jeff when I watch him skateboard!

My sweet nephew Jeffrey.. as a baby, child and young man.. you have always sored above the rest.. one in a million on this earth.. and now one in a million amongst the stars. You were born right after I went to prom my junior year. You were the cutest kid.  When you were a baby, that rascally heart monitor freaked us all out.  I'd rather have you fall asleep on my lap while I tickled your so I could just watch you instead of lie you in your crib to sleep.  I have kicked myself so many times the last few days wondering why I let life get passed us and didn't see you grow up as much as I should have. Jeff, part of me is missing without you because you taught me so much about life over the years.
