Joaquin "Kino" Roman Lara

JOAQUIN "KINO" LARA Age 88, resident of Beaumont, CA for 79 years, passed away 10/11/2010. Kino was born 08/09/1922 in Tracey, CA. He worked in construction and retired from the Lather's Union. He served in the Army for 2 years, earning the rank of Tech 5 grade and was a Beaumont High graduate in 1941. Kino volunteered at the Fire Dept. for 33 years, was a member of Kiwanis and Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church. Kino is survived by his wife, Esther; daughters, Diana Williams and Karen Woods; sons, Joaquin, Jr. and Mike; brother, Al of Hayward, CA; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; brothers, Lawrence, Tommy, Freddie and Leandro; sister, Annie. Visitation 10/15/10 at 4pm with 6pm Rosary at Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont. Mass on 10/16/10, 10am at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
