I just found out not long ago the passing of John, I still want to send my love to Lynda, Suzanne, and Shelly.  John was a second dad to me and I am grieving about his passing even though it was some time ago. It was an honor to call him "dad" and he had a  love for his family and was always up for an adventure, I remember being able to go on some trips with the family he was one if he saw a cave or anything off the road he had to go investigate it , he was not afraid , he was also one to drive a car to almost an empty gas tank, he liked living on the edge! 

To John's Family. I send my sincere condolences to all of you from the Sowles Family of Wilsonville Oregon. He nicknamed me "KO" when I was just a kid. He was my Dad's partner; Jack R. Sowles,in the land development business in the 60's and 70's and remained close friends until my dad's death in 1985. He was a very important man to our entire family and we will miss him dearly. John was my neighbor and we walked together on a  regular basis. He loved his family very deeply and had great passion and energy. He was a great friend and I always enjoyed my time with him. He was very generous, kind and will be missed very much.

I have not seen John in 44 years but will always remember him as my Dads best friend and a fun person to be around at 13 years old. I now know they have crossed paths again but sad for your loss.   Jim Layton
