Josephine H. Flores was born in Los Angeles, CA on August 6, 1925. She lived in Banning for more than 70 years. Josephine married Berto Flores and together they had 8 children: Lobelia Garcia (John), Bert Flores Jr. (Linda), Yolanda (Yolie) Petrovich, Armida Kellum (Tom), and Erlinda Rice (Randy); sons, Ernie, Carlos, and Patrick Flores preceded their mother in meeting our Lord in heaven. Josie was always involved in her children's activities for school and sports. She joined committees for PTA, Little League, Boy Scouts, Mexican-American Scholarship, along with volunteer work when needed. She was not just a mother to her children, but to their friends as well, always having an open door for the numerous visitors that came by. Her infamous Christmas Eve gatherings welcomed generation, upon generation. Josie's countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, in addition to nieces, nephews and friends will miss her dearly. Josie passed on February 15, 2016 in Banning with her loving family by her side.
