Julie Torrence of Cherry Valley was called home to heaven on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from complications of open-heart surgery at UCLA Medical Center. Words cannot describe how sorely missed Julie will be to her family and friends. Julie was truly an amazing person who set an example of volunteerism and having a servant’s heart to her family and the entire community at large. Julie was born in Richmond, Indiana on September 29, 1933, as the 2nd child of Raymond and Garnet Wade. Julie was raised in Hollansburg, Ohio and moved to California in 1964. Julie worked as a Professional Model, a Pharmacist Assistant, Secretary for the Electrician’s Union and retired as Secretary at the Sheet Metal Union.
Julie is survived by her husband Tom of Cherry Valley, brother Darrel Wade (Alberta) of Sarasota Florida, two sons Greg Hinshaw (Amy) and Jeffery Hinshaw of Sisters Oregon, one daughter Cindy Saks (Jeff) of Highland, two stepsons Greg Torrence (Lori) of Highland, Jay Torrence (Lisa) of Cincinnati Ohio, and she was preceded in death by stepson Bruce Torrence. Julie has six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that all loved her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 7th at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont CA 92223.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Polycystic Kidney Foundation (PKD Foundation www.pkdcure.org)
