

Kenneth Helge Nelson was born in June 1924 in Traverse City, Michigan to Helmer and Ida Nelson. He lived in Traverse City until he left home to serve in the Army where he was a Master Sergeant stationed in Pearl Harbor. Following his service in the Army, Kenneth returned to Michigan to study at Albion College where he also excelled as a member of the school baseball team. Several years later, his 1950 MIAA Champion Baseball Team would be awarded membership into Albion's Athletic Hall of Fame. Ken received his Masters degree from University of Michigan and went to work for Touche, Ross, Bailey & Smart. Kenneth married Georgia Peterson of North Muskegon, Michigan in 1953 and had four sons together. Kenneth and Georgia moved to California in 1960 where they stayed and raised their children. Kenneth eventually retired from the Savings and Loan Business. Kenneth loved playing golf and cards with friends at Hacienda Country Club, but his family always came first.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Georgia Nelson of Banning, CA, and his sons Mark Nelson of Los Angeles, CA, Kevin Nelson of Banning, CA. Craig Nelson (Marcia) of Jackson, CA, and Scott Nelson of Whittier, CA, and grandchildren Travis Nelson, Jessica (Jason) Rumpca, Cory Nelson, Tyler Nelson, and Sara Martinez (Mark). Kenneth and Georgia spent 65 wonderful years together.
