Maria Tostado de Martinez, 80, was born on October 28, 1945, in Aguas Calientes (Aguascalientes) Mexico, and passed away on July 17, 2026. A resident of Cabazon, California, Maria will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who were blessed to know her.
For 53 years, Maria shared a devoted marriage with her beloved husband, Jose Martinez. Her life was rooted in faith and family—steady, nurturing, and quietly strong. She found comfort in prayer and peace in taking walks, and she cherished the simple, meaningful rhythms of everyday life.
Maria especially loved the company of family and friends, welcoming time together with warmth and sincerity. She delighted in going out on adventures, and she took pride in tending to her garden, including her overgrown lemon tree that stood as a familiar, living part of home. Maria was also the beloved madrina of many, a role she carried with honor and heartfelt care. Her connection to Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church remained an important part of her life and community.
Maria is survived by her husband, Jose Martinez; her sons, Jose and Roberto; and her daughter, Monica. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Tostado; her mother, Trinidad Silva; and her sister, Josefina Tostado. Maria also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Weaver Mortuary Chapel, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, CA 92223, on August 13, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Beaumont, 1234 Palm Ave, Beaumont, CA 92223, on August 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will be held at Sunnyslope Cemetery, 40 Pennsylvania Ave, Beaumont, CA 92223, on August 14, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
Pallbearers will be Raymond, Marcos, Robert, Eduardo, and Ruben. Honorary pallbearers will be Jose, Jose A., and Roberto.
