Milton Paige Reed

Milton Paige Reed, a beloved father, grandfather, and community member, peacefully departed this life on August 9, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Calimesa, California. Born as the only child to Paige and Vivian Reed, Milton led a life of service, dedication, and love.

After receiving his formal education in the Los Angeles school system, Milton proudly served his country as a Private First Class Military Policeman in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his military service, he embarked on a diverse and accomplished career in public service. Milton worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office, a Senior Police Mechanic for the Los Angeles Police Department, and later managed operations for the Los Angeles City Traffic Department for 28 years until his retirement in 1990.

Retirement did not slow Milton down. He remained actively engaged in his community, volunteering for many years with the Calimesa Police Department as a Citizens Patrolman. His dedication to service extended to Grace Lutheran Church, where he served as an Elder, Usher, and Braille Worker, among many other roles.

Milton's legacy lives on through his family. His first marriage to Beverly L. Reed (deceased) blessed him with four children: Mujahid, Vivian, Dee, and Dwayne (deceased). He took great pride in his ten granddaughters, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Milton is also survived by two loving daughters-in-law, a devoted son-in-law, and a large, loving extended family. His second wife, Jean E. Reed, preceded him in death.

A visitation for Milton will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 1000 W Wilson St, Banning, CA 92220. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, 1000 W Wilson St, Banning, CA 92220. A graveside service and military honors will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California 92518.
