Reginald Mitchell Sr.

On May 1, 1953 Emma Denman was blessed with a baby boy whom she named Reginald Mitchell. He was the first of seven children, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Early in his life, the family moved to California, Where he attended Berkeley Unified School District. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School. He received his Medical Certificate for Surgical Technician. And,became employed by Kaiser Permanente hospital. Where he remained employed for 37 years,until his retirement.

At a young age, he became a member of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church of Oakland ,CA.under the leadership of Rev. C.J.Anderson. He met Jackqueline O'Neal in 1976, as they were both members of the "Echoes of Zion Choir".His nickname then,was "Ricky".'

In November 1978, Reginald Mitchell Sr. and Jackqueline O'Neal were joined together in marriage. They resided in San Francisco, CA. From this union they have two sons, Reginald Mitchell, Jr and Ryan Christopher Mitchell. Reginald and Jackqueline eventually move to Temecula,California, where he was blessed with three grandchildren:Amiyah Jaelynn Balasbas, Damariay Asante and Kai'lessiah Aja Almryde.

Reginald was an avid Raiders Football fan. And, his favorite quote was "Just Win,Baby"

In his retirement, He loved spending time with his grandchildren,hanging out at "Cees" Barber Shop, where he built a special bond With Master Barbers "C" and "Gino".Spending time shopping for sports memorabilia, Listening to music from the seventies, and watching classic movies.

He was preceded into glory by his mother, Emma Denman, and Stepfather Aaron Mitchell.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jackqueline, his children Reginald Mitchell Jr, Ryan Christopher Mitchell,our brothers, Kenneth (Paulette)of Antioch, California. Keith(Pamela), of Richmond, California, Vincent (Una) of Oakland, California, Shaun Oakland, California. Two sisters: Sheryl (Preston)Dozier of Temecula, California, Alfreda Mitchell of Alameda, California A host of nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.

A visitation for Reginald will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Weaver Mortuary & Crematory, 1177 BEAUMONT AVE, BEAUMONT, CA 92223.
