Rita Jane Heslop

Rita met her future husband Jim Heslop in high school in Eldora, Iowa where she graduated in 1951 to attend Iowa Lutheran School of Nursing. Her career as a nurse began as charge nurse at Mercy Hospital in Centerville, Iowa, then as Head Start Nurse in Banning, CA, and O.R. Nurse at San Gorgonio Hospital.

While Rita loved her profession, her true devotion was to her family and friends, her church and to the Lord. A humble servant, she always placed others above herself, visiting sick friends and bringing words of comfort to those who were suffering. Her commitment to those who loved her will be remembered and missed forever.

A memorial service for Rita will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at United Methodist Church, 235 N 2nd St, Banning, CA 92220. Following the memorial service will be a reception from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Weaver Mortuary & Crematory, 1177 Beaumont Ave Beaumont, CA 92223.
