

Riddell, Stanley William, 91, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 in Cherry Valley, CA. He was born January 24, 1924 in San Bernardino to Stanley & Bernadine Riddell. After graduating from St. Bernardine’s High School in 1941, he would enlist in the United States Navy during WWII in 1941 and for the following 4 years he would work his way to the title of Aviation Chief and would be awarded the distinguished Flying Cross and 2 air medals.
Once he returned home, Stanley would attend and graduate from San Bernardino Valley College in 1948. He would retire from Norton Air Force Base after 45 years of service, where he held the position of logistics specialist in the SR-71 program. He continued to work post retirement for the next 2 years as a consultant for Adroit Systems.
For the past 37 years, Stanley has lived in Cherry Valley where he always enjoyed being an active member of his community at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Beaumont, Acres and Neighbors in Cherry Valley, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the VPB 116 Blue Raiders.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 67 years, Arlene Riddell; daughters, Teresa (Victor) Soldo, Sheila (Ed Alves) Riddell and Patty (Richard) Lococo; sons, Stanley William Riddell, John Riddell and Daniel Riddell; brothers, Richard Riddell and John Riddell; sisters, Donna Benstog, Rosalie Rutten and Carol Duesler; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by one sister, Janis Ross.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21 at 11:00 am at the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, 1234 Palm Ave., Beaumont. Interment is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 at 11:30 am at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
