Tiburcia Ochoa

Tiburcia Ochoa, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on September 21, 1936, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Narcisa Aguirre and Francisco Valdez, who were also born in Mexico.

In 1956, Tiburcia came to Beaumont, California, with her family as a migrant farm worker. Through hard work, determination, and faith, she built a life and a home in the community she would come to love. On January 6, 1962, Tiburcia married the love of her life, Pedro Ochoa. Together they built a loving family and shared nearly four decades of marriage until Pedro’s passing in 2001. Tiburcia carried his memory and the love they shared with her throughout the remainder of her life.

Tiburcia was a woman of incredible strength, devotion, and love. She worked as a cook at Beaumont Preschool for more than 20 years, where she became a familiar and caring presence to generations of children and families. Her love of caring for others extended far beyond her work, as she devoted her life to her family and her faith.

Tiburcia and Pedro were blessed with three children: Rene Ochoa, who preceded her in death and is survived by his widow, Lori Ochoa; Jaime Ochoa, who was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dawn; and her only daughter, Maria Ochoa Flynn, and her husband, Brian Flynn.

She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include Michael Ochoa, who lives in New York with his wife, Nicole, and their two sons Noah & Mayson; Ashley Ochoa and her two sons, Jakob & Joshua Robert Ochoa and his wife Nikki Ochoa and their daughter Addison, Anthony Ochoa and his three children; Adian, Alex, and Aleigha Maria, Christopher Ochoa; and Nathan Ochoa and his partner Kaela and their two children, Liberty and Ronan as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Tiburcia came from a large family and was preceded in death by many of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her brother.

Tiburcia’s faith was at the heart of her life. She was a devoted and active member of what was formerly known as San Gorgonio Catholic Church, where she worshipped, served, and formed many lasting friendships. Her church community was an important part of her life, and the friendships she made there remained precious to her.

For the last almost five years of her life, Tiburcia resided at Highland Healthcare Center in Redlands. Even during these final years, her family remained at the center of her world. She passed away peacefully just a few days after being introduced to her newest great-grandson—a final precious gift and family memory that will forever be cherished.

Tiburcia lived a life defined by love, faith, hard work, and family. She gave so much of herself to those around her and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of her family and friends.
