

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 8 at Beaumont Presbyterian Church, 702 Euclid Avenue, Beaumont, California.
Bill was born on September 3, 1928 in Los Angeles to Mckinley and Eleanor Helm.
After graduating from high school, Bill joined the Army, serving in the 3rd Armored Division at Fort Knox. Following the Army, Bill joined the Navy Reserve and was stationed at Los Alamitos Naval Station.
Bill married the former Dolores (Dee) Conterno on September 2, 1951 in Long Beach.
He chose the field of law enforcement for his career, serving in both the Long Beach and Palos Verdes Estates Police Departments before joining the Santa Ana Police Department where he served for 26 years as a patrol officer, motor officer, and investigator. After serving the public for over 30 years, he joined Northrop as a security investigator before retiring.
During retirement, Bill and Dee traveled throughout the world, as well as enjoying their RV with other enthusiasts. Bill also proudly served as a Senior Volunteer at the California Highway Patrol Banning Office for many years. He helped establish the program and enjoyed the camaraderie shared with his law enforcement family.
Bill is survived by his two children, son Kurt Helm and his wife Jean of Moorpark, CA and daughter Kristen Granich and her husband David of Temecula, CA; as well as three grandchildren, Wendy Sims, Aaron Granich, and Julia Blair. His wife, Dolores Helm, preceded him in death on June 13, 2013.
He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
